The School

We started our journey in 1994, as "REACH – SHRUTI Center for Special Education" as a sister concern of REACH Calcutta. It was set up in Surat for providing special educational services to the intellectually impaired children in and around Surat. A Non-Government community based organization, we started with two children and today due to the awareness among people and open mindedness, we have expanded to 215 students and counting, with a staff of 30 professionals who educate and train the children. We still have a long way to go, but our journey till now has been both a struggle and an achievement.

In 2008, REACH-Shruti was changed and the board of trustees as the governing body, under Shree Mahadev Education & Rehabilitation Public Charitable Trust was set up. The governing principles, the way of working, the staff, the values of the institute did not change. Just the governing body transformed and we are now a more stable and a bigger institute. We now operate in a center of our own, made with state of the art technology and nurtured with utmost care and love and a powerful positive aura, which comes from each and every child that sets foot in here. Our children live life and enjoy it in all its colors and never let their impairments be an obstacle.
